I’m not a fan of unpaid tests. In fact, I think they can be quite unfair.
Starting on a small project is, in my opinion, the best indicator of a translator’s abilities.
At Traducire, we believe that a sample of an isolated text doesn’t tell us much (most of the time) compared to all the information that a real project can give us.
Starting whit a small project gives us the chance to see how the translator works and whether they are a good fit for our client’s needs. If we are happy with their work, we move on to larger projects.
Some of the benefits of using this approach:
- It is fair to both the translator and the client.
- It allows the translator to demonstrate their skills and abilities.
- It allows the client to be confident that they are getting a high-quality translation.
- It helps to build a strong working relationship between the translator and the client.
We take many steps to ensure quality, this is one of them.
